High Quality Visuals Matter

(It’s just not what you thought it was)

How are you telling your visual story? Without narration, having well planned, beautifully captured visuals makes a difference for your audience. It’s not just about putting something beautiful on camera.

First, we need to ask ourselves a at least two questions.

  1. What is the message?

  2. How does visual capture share that story?

Now we have to take the idea and break it down. Even a simple 30-second reel needs to follow scenes and scripts to make sense. This is why so many companies spend so much time and money developing ads with agencies. While a local business doesn’t have the kind of budget, it behooves us to try to make the best use of that information and follow formulas that have worked for the advertising industry for decades.

Knowing story formulas like the ‘hero’s journey’ can help clarify the path and connect with audiences. Triggering curiosity with thoughtful questions can lead to greater interest.

Now, ask yourself how you can do this non-verbally. “High-quality” refers to your visual story, not always the image quality. Social media has made this clearer than ever, with so much of the highest performing content being shot on phone cameras.

Suppose you had a high-quality video with a high-quality visual story, something that connects people to a brand through emotion, experience, and ethos; well, now there’s connection. And it’s being overlooked by small businesses owners everywhere. You might even be one of them.
